Information on coming to Serbia during the COVID-19 virus epidemic

The PCR test is mandatory for the entry of all foreign citizens into Serbia, regardless of the country from which they enter Serbia. The PCR test is not mandatory for foreign citizens in transit through the Republic of Serbia whose stay is limited to a period not longer than 12 hours.

For the purpose of protection against the spread of infectious diseases on the territory of the Republic of Serbia, as of 14 January 2021, persons coming to the Republic of Serbia from all countries of the world, except the Republic of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Northern Macedonia, Hungary, and Montenegro, are allowed to enter the Republic of Serbia only if they have a negative SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR test not older than 48 hours, issued by the reference laboratory of the country from which they are coming, i.e. from which they enter the Republic of Serbia.

Persons coming from the USA are allowed to have, under the same conditions, a negative Antigen FIA Rapid test instead of a negative RT-PCR test.

If there is a delay in entering the Republic of Serbia, where fault cannot be attributed to the passenger, but is a consequence of an external event that could not be predicted, avoided, or eliminated (flight delay, bus/train departure delay etc.), then the test cannot be older than 72 hours when entering the Republic of Serbia.

Citizens of the Republic of Serbia and foreign citizens who have been granted temporary residence or permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia, who are arriving from all countries in the world, except from the Republic of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Northern Macedonia, and Montenegro, and do not have negative SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR test issued by the reference laboratory of the country from which they are coming or entering the Republic of Serbia, i.e. persons coming from the USA not having a negative Antigen FIA Rapid test not older than 48 hours from the date of issue, will be given a written notice during passport control – a health warning about the obligation to comply with the 10-day home quarantine measure from the date of crossing the state border, and warned about the obligation to report to the competent COVID clinic or territorially competent public health institution, within 24 hours from crossing the state border, via electronic application to the electronic address: www.e-zdravlje.gov.rs

When traveling by rail in Serbia, it is necessary to adhere to the prescribed safety measures.

Rules of conduct during the COVID-19 epidemic:

While there is a danger of spreading the contagious COVID-19 disease, when in indoor public places, citizens are obliged to wear protective masks everywhere, always and in every place, even in open spaces, and maintain a distance of at least one and a half meters between persons who do not reside in the same household, in order to prevent the spread of the contagious COVID-19 disease, i.e. one person can be present on every 4 m². Public gatherings of up to 5 persons at the same time, in indoor and outdoor public places, are allowed in the territory of the Republic of Serbia. The distance between the persons present must be at least 1.5 m, i.e. one person can be present in every 4 m2. A fine of 5,000 dinars shall be imposed on any individual who violates the measure of compulsory wearing of a protective mask on public transport or indoors, prescribed by this Decree or acts of the Government adopted on the basis of this Decree.

Working hours

Restaurants and cafes have working hours until 08 p.m. during working days and weekends.

Shops are open according to the usual working hours from 05 a.m. until 08 p.m., and shopping centres are open from 10 a.m. until 08 p.m. during working days and weekends.

Theatres and cinemas are open to visitors in compliance with all the prescribed safety measures until 09 p.m.
Museums and galleries are open to visitors in compliance with all the prescribed safety measures until 09 p.m.

Ski season / Ski Resorts of Serbia

The public enterprise “Ski Resorts of Serbia” has taken all the mandatory epidemiological measures prescribed at the state level in order to ensure safe skiing at the “Kopaonik” Ski Centres – “Zlatibor” and “Stara Planina” Ski Resorts, which it manages.

Skiers are required to wear protective masks/bandanas, to wear gloves when using the ski transport facilities and to maintain the prescribed distance. PE “Ski Resorts of Serbia” distributes protective masks to its users.

Physical distance - lines are organised in accordance with the applicable regulations in the open and indoors. The number of skiers in the six-seater chairlifts has been reduced to a maximum of three skiers.

Disinfection - hand sanitisers are available in the carriers, as well as at the departure and exit stations of the chairlifts and ski lifts, ski polygons, the entrance to the ski kindergarten and the indoor facilities. All skier transporting facilities are disinfected at least three times a day.

Buying ski passes

Service users are advised to purchase their ski passes through the webshop and pick them up from the pickup boxes that are set up at a number of places in Belgrade, in the ski centre/ski resorts, and in Novi Sad.

COVID guarantee

If the PE “Ski Resorts of Serbia” is forced to close the ski centre/ski resorts due to the worsening epidemiological situation, all service users will either be refunded based on the payment for a ski pass for unused ski days or will be able to use their unused ski passes in another period during the 2020/2021 ski season. The buyers of seasonal ski passes can exercise the right to calculation and possible refund at the end of the 2020/2021 ski season for a particular ski resort/ski centre.

If the buyer fails to use their purchased ski pass due to a COVID 19 infection, with an appropriate medical report submitted to the public enterprise, they will be able to use the remaining days of the current 2020/2021 ski season at another time that suits them, or they can choose a refund in the amount of 70% of the amount paid.
